LODGE POLICIES

 COVID-19 Updated Policies:

Our COVID-19 Guidelines were developed in keeping with Ontario’s Best Practices for Workplace Safety & Prevention Services for the Tourism and Hospitality Sector.  Please see our policies regarding Guest Screening, Reception & Check-in and Housekeeping & Laundry.

Guest Screening:

Each guest will be asked to fill out a screening questionnaire to be kept on file.

Please click here to download and print a copy of the questionnaire - every guest must fill one out prior to arrival.

Staggered Check-in:

We ask each guest sanitize their hands upon arrival at the Lodge and that each group staying together in one Cabin check-in one Cabin at a time.  Desk surfaces, pens, credit card machines and other high touch surfaces will be regularly cleaned with appropriate disinfecting cleansers.

Hand Sanitizer:

Each Cabin and Boat will be equipped with alcohol-based hand sanitizer.  Guests are reminded to wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water whenever possible.  In the absence of water, sanitize hands frequently with alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Maintain Physical Distancing Measures:

Exercise responsible physical distancing (2m or 6 feet apart) with other guests at the Lodge in common areas, including trails, docks and other outdoor spaces. We will also avoid the traditional handshake greeting at this time (sadly).

Laundry & Housekeeping:

Your cabin will be supplied with In-Room towels and linens (one set for the duration of your stay).  Your cabin will be cleaned and ready for occupancy upon check-in.  Each cabin will be equipped with hand sanitizer, disinfecting cleansers and other supplies for maintenance during your stay.  Upon check-out, each cabin will be thoroughly cleaned, including hard surfaces and high touch areas wiped down with disinfecting solutions, floors vacuumed, towels & linens changed.

LODGE POLICIEs

Our policies are designed to provide each guest with a safe and enjoyable stay.

Cancellation Policy:

We have a limited number of cabins and accordingly, we ask guests to recognize that receipt of a deposit reserves those accommodation date(s) for their exclusive use and those accommodations are no longer available for us to rent. In the event that you are required to cancel or change the dates of your confirmed reservation, the following shall apply:

  • Full refund of your deposit, less a $50 (plus HST) fee shall apply, if the request is made in writing, not less than 60 days in advance of your confirmed Arrival Date.

  • Requests to cancel or modify your reservation received between 10-60 days in advance of your confirmed Arrival Date will be refunded ONLY IF WE ARE ABLE TO RE-RENT your reserved accommodation. The amount of your deposit refund will be less a $50 (plus HST) fee.

  • The deposit is forfeited in full if a cancellation is made less than 10 days prior to your confirmed Arrival Date.

 Check-in & Check-out Times:

Check-in is no earlier than 2:30pm on the date of your arrival.  Check-out is no later than 10:00am on the date of your departure.  Please make arrangements with us if you require times other than specified.  Please note that Hartley Bay Marina closes at 8pm nightly.

Motorized Boat Rentals:

Please ensure that you have a valid Boater’s License, as required, to operate motorized boats in Ontario.  Our Dock Staff will go through a Boat Safety Checklist with you and you will be asked to sign a Personal Liability Waiver when you take possession of the rental boat.  You will be responsible to pay all damages sustained to the boat, motor or prop during the time of your rental.

Our boats are not equipped with lights. Our rental boats must be operated ONLY DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. Operation after dark is strictly prohibited.

Non-Motorized Watercraft Rentals:

Our Dock Staff will go through a Boat Safety Checklist with you and you will be asked to sign a Personal Liability Waiver when you take possession of the watercraft.

Pet Policy:

Charge of $40.00 per dog per stay

Dogs are welcome at French River Lodge, provided that they are cared for by their owners.  Please keep your dog leashed if coming inside the Lodge Building.  As a gentle reminder, keep your pet close to you at all times and please respect that not all guests enjoy fur buddies as much as we do.

Please ensure that you clean up after your pet at all times, including on trails, etc.  To reduce shedding, please brush your pet regularly OUTSIDE.

Outdoor Campfires:

Campfires must be lit only in designated areas, as determined by the Owners. We expect guests to exercise extreme caution when setting campfires and adhere to Outdoor Fire Indexes, including compliance with Burn Bans if directed by the local fire department.  Campfires must be attended to at all times and extinguished with water when leaving the fire pit area.

Garbage:

Please place all garbage inside the cottage or in designated waste bins.  Do not leave food, garbage or food waste outdoors or near the BBQs.  We encourage you, wherever possible, to avoid single use or disposable items to reduce your environmental footprint.
